Memorial services for Earl John Thibodeaux,73, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Holy Family Cemetery. Earl passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Camelot of Broussard.
Deacon Wade Broussard will be the officiant with a military graveside service to follow.
A resident of New Iberia, Earl J. Thibodeaux was born on November 15, 1945, in New Orleans. He was raised in Weeks Island by the late Paul “Polo” Thibodeaux and Anna Rawlins Thibodeaux. He was drafted by the US Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer. Upon returning, he worked in the construction and boating industry. In his younger years, he loved long motorcycle trips on his Harley Davidson. In retirement, he enjoyed bowling and became a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Shirley Landry Hoffpauir; step-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step brothers Clarence P. Thibodeaux, Harris J. Thibodeaux and Leroy Thibodeaux; one stepsister Marie Thibodeaux Rogers.
