Blaze William Boutte

Funeral services will be conducted for Blaze William Boutte, 38, on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 4 p.m. in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Landry officiating.

Visitation will begin on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Farmington, Minnesota, he passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Blaze was the operations manager and a dedicated employee for Power Up! Nutrition and Supplements.

He was the oldest of three brothers and attended North Lewis Elementary School in New Iberia. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1998 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2003. He also earned a degree in computer electronics technology from South Louisiana Community College along with a certification in medical processing and coding.

Blaze was a kind and gentle soul with a handsome smile. He was a scholar who loved learning and was a voracious reader. His greatest interests were philosophy, mathematics and engineering. His favorite hobbies were rollerblading, biking, exercising and playing video games. He had a beautiful singing voice, could carry any tune and was extremely talented at impersonating famous people.

He is survived by his parents, Lennes “Blaze” and Sharon Bonin Boutte of New Iberia; brothers Blake Jude Boutte of Farmington, Minnesota and Barrett Christopher Boutte and wife Brittany Gonsoulin Boutte of Youngsville; nieces Brylee Alise Boutte and Brinkley Ann Boutte, both of Youngsville; godmother Ruth Landry Freyou of New Iberia; uncles Clyde Boutte of Scotsdale, Arizona and Barrett Bonin of Lafayette; and an aunt, Kathleen Bonin of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Maude Decuir Boutte; maternal grandparents, Bill and Joyce Landry Bonin; his godfather and uncle Irvin “Perk” Boutte; and his aunts Angela Freese Bonin and Linda Walker Boutte.
