Daesha Monique Collins and Jeffrey Wayne Hughes were married recently at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Loreauville. The bride is the daughter of Claire Collins of Loreauville and Davis Collins of Jeanerette. The groom is the son of Larry Hughes and Joy Hughes of Los Angeles.
The Rev. Paul Onuegbe officiated at the ceremony.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory-colored one-piece, strapless, slim A-line gown with lace-up closure. Empress taffeta wrapped across the sweetheart neckline creating a slimming asymmetrical waist. Embellished lace flourished throughout the bodice area and the gathered taffeta overlay created a fluted side drape revealing an embellished tulle insert. The back of the gown pulled at the side hip, creating an asymmetrical train.
For her headpiece, she wore a silver tiara embedded with pearls and rhinestones. She wore a cathedral veil.
She carried a bouquet of green, white and purple lilies and gardenias accented with feathers.
