Each year the LSU Athletic Department offers the 4-H program an opportunity to attend an LSU football game at reduced ticket prices. The 4-H Day with the Tigers was scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Tiger Stadium with LSU vs. Furman. The tailgate was held in Parker Coliseum. The LSU Golden Girls performed at 10:30 a.m. and the cheerleaders, mascot and Tiger Girls performed at 2:30 p.m. Several games were available for 4-H members in Parker Coliseum, including a rock wall, along with more than 100 door prizes for 4-H members, as well as food, water and drinks. LSU AgCenter chancellor Bill Richardson and the Louisiana 4-H Foundation sponsor attended the annual 4-H tailgate. Fourth graders Ke’Asia St. Julien and Kameron Battle represented the Pesson Elementary 4-H group They were excited to have the opportunity to attend this event. Ke’Asia St. Julien won a door prize. This was the first time a 4-H student from Pesson Elementary ever attended the tailgate.

Pesson Elementary teacher Erin Folse said Ke’Asia is excited about this year’s Pesson 4-H program. This year active and involved members will make this a great year for Pesson. Ke’Asia also is a member of 4-H SET club. The SET club only accepts a limited amount of member and they learn more about science, engineering and technology. This is also the first time a Pesson Elementary student has been accepted in the club. They participated in the Bicycle Rodeo and the Iberia Parish Rice, Beef and Seafood Cookery Contest. Both girls entered a Seafood Dish.
