LYDIA — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Scotty Oppenheimer, 46, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Lydia, with Rev. Gregory Chauvin, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery, Patoutville.

A gathering of family and friends will be at the church on Saturday 8 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary.

A resident of St. Martinville, he passed on Friday April 6, 2012, at University Medical Center in Lafayette.

He leaves to cherish his memory his companion Evelyn Cole of St. Martinville; one daughter Brittany Oppenheimer of St. Martinville; his father, James C. Oppenheimer of Jeanerette; two brothers Kerry Oppenheimer of Jeanerette and Kevin Oppenheimer of Breaux Bridge; two sisters Jammie Oppenheimer of New Iberia and Nicole Oppenheimer of Jeanerette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He now joins in glory with his mother, Jeanetta Olivier Oppenheimer; two brothers James C. Oppenheimer Jr. and baby boy Oppenheimer; his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Oppenheimer, Jeffery Flugence, Howard Williams, Melvin Cole, Billie Olivier and Chad Broussard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jarvis Francis, Sonny Robertson, Terry Celestine, Lonnie Johnson, Dickie Robertson and Kerry Oppenheimer.
