A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Mrs. Mildred C. Hogan, 91, the former Mildred Clavelle, at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Fletcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander, officiating.

She will await the resurrection at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of services.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, she passed at 2:02 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church in Jeanerette, where she was mother of the church. She was also a former member of Lucinda Pierre Chapter No. 32 Order of Eastern Star.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons Freddie Hogan and Earl Hogan (Annie Mae) of Jeanerette and John Henry Clavelle (Vera) of Abbeville; four daughters Mary Hill and Audrey August of New Iberia, Martha Lockette of Jeanerette and Grace Thomas of Houston; three brothers Chester Clavelle of Chicago, Charles Clavelle of Port Arthur, Texas, and Frank Clavelle (Mary Louise) of Jeanerette; two grandchildren she reared as her own Brian Hill and Jordan Perry; 41 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-great-grandchildren; a godchild John Allen Lockette; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Fred Hogan; her parents, Robert Clavelle Sr. and Mary Pierce Clavelle; four sisters Annie Mae Williams, Alice Clay, Juanita Key and Myrtle Rhine; three brothers Robert Clavelle Jr., Wilfred Clavelle and Segas Clavelle.

Active pallbearers will be Jordan Perry, Don Perry, Oswald Hogan, Dominique Allen, Dale Hill and Brian Hill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Hogan, Freddie Hogan, Frank Clavelle, Chester Clavelle, Charles Clavelle and Michael Thomas.
