A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia for Leroy Legnon Sr., 75, who died December 27, 2013, in New Iberia.
Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant.
A native of New Iberia, Mr. Legnon was born on December 7, 1938, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber, the state of Louisiana and the city of New Iberia.
Survivors include his son Leroy “Lee” Legnon Jr. and wife, Trina, of Bellevue, Wash.; daughter Michelle Susan Smith and husband, Jake, of Salem, Va.; brothers Mitchell Blanchard, Dennis “Pete” Desormeaux and Stafford Stutes; sisters Laura Mae Dugas, Doris Gaspard, Alozia Vice, Mazelda Marie Blanchard, Thelma M. Stutes and Melissa Holden; and grandchildren Kyle and Nyree.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Stutes; and father, Harrison Legnon.
