Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Joseph “Joe” Bennett Jr., 73, at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, at David Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, October 8, 2010, from 12 (noon) until 9 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday, October 9, 2010, from 8 a.m. until service time.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bennett died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 10 a.m. in a local health care facility. He was owner/operator of Joe Bennett Auto Paint and Body Repair Shop.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his children Randy Bennett, Raqueal Martinez of New Iberia, Nichole Landaverde of New Iberia, Florence Vidrine, Joey Bennett of New Iberia, Todd Bennett; stepson Steven Bourque of New Iberia and Jude Romero of New Iberia; grandchildren Natassja Ledet, Dominique Camacho, Gabriella Landaverde, Alisia Landaverde, Alex Bennett, Skylar Bourque, Shea Bourque, Stevie Bourque and Sammi Jo Bourque; great-grandchildren Angelo Ledet; Broters Luke Bennett of New Iberia; his sisters Elizabeth “Appie” Davis of New Iberia and Trudy LeBouef of Prairieville.

Mr. Bennett was preceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Bennett Sr. and Elverta Lancon Bennett; his brothers Henry Bennett and Ronald A. Bennett; and his sister Catherine Murray; and his grandson Seth Landry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Bennett, Dominique Camacho, Alex Bennett, Steven Bourque, Mike Camacho and Jude Romero.
