ABBEVILLE  — Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012, at a 3 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church honoring the life of Eufis Joseph Hebert, 76, who died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his residence.

He will be laid to rest at LeBlanc Community Cemetery with Father Bill Melancon officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Joseph Leleux, Nicholas Hebert, Martin Theriot, Richard Rhoads, Ricky Mire and Tony Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be John Allen Hebert, Donald LeBlanc, Leffery Flores, Leopaul Flores, Wayne Romero, Haywood Hebert, Roy Hebert, James Romero, Dalton Hebert and members of the Knights of Columbus Council 5111.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Velma Hebert; son Dalton Hebert and his wife, Gail, of Missouri; daughter Norma Leleux and her husband, Joseph, of Abbeville; four brothers Haywood Hebert, Roy Hebert, John Allen Hebert and James Romero; five sisters Clara LeBlanc, Shirley Flores, Barbara Derouen, Anna Theriot and Gloria Romero; three grandchildren Kristin Hebert, Brittany Hebert and Nicholas Hebert; and two great-grandchildren Tristin Smith and Shannon Troy LeBlanc III.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert Hebert and the former Rita Bodin; nephew Roy Hebert Jr.; and half-sister Amanda Romero.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for church.
