A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Shelby Racca Sr., the former Dolly Latiolais, 77, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Edward Duhon as the celebrant. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. until service time. Interment will be at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Racca enjoyed crocheting and watching LSU and Saints football teams in her favorite recliner. In her younger years she was very active in the New Iberia Little League and Cub Scouts serving as a Den Mother. Mrs. Racca passed away Monday, October 1, 2012, at 9:18 a.m. at a local healthcare facility. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons Shelby “Buddy” Racca Jr. and wife, Amiee, of Richmond, Texas, Darren J. Racca, of Walton, Ind., Michael P. Racca of Cameron, Mo., and Todd A. Racca and wife, Jackie, of New Iberia; one daughter Debra Racca Robicheaux and husband, Earl, of New Iberia; sisters Barbara Thibodeaux of St. Martinville and Gail Latiolais of Breaux Bridge; brothers Perry Latiolais of Parks and Merlin Latiolais of Lafayette; grandchildren Nicole Delahoussaye and husband, David, Earl “Trey” Robicheaux III and wife, Dusti, Kyle Robicheaux, Kayci Racca and Lanie Racca all of New Iberia, Shelby Racca III of Richmond, Texas, Brandon Racca of Richmond, Texas, Shelby Leann Racca of Walton, Ind., Brock Racca of Walton, Ind., Antonio Racca, Michelle Racca and Daria Racca all of Dexton, Mo.; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Racca Sr.; parents, Wade and Yolande Latiolais; and one sister Agatha Segura.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Racca Jr., Shelby Racca III, Todd Racca, Earl “Trey” Robicheaux III, Kyle Robicheaux and David Delahoussaye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Robicheaux Jr. and Brandon Racca.
