Danny was born on July 15, 1959 in New Iberia to the union of Velma Broussard Fontenot and the late Wilbert Fontenot. He departed this earthly life on November 7, 2011, at home surrounded by family. Danny was a loving and caring father, son, brother and uncle. He was a master mechanic and the owner of Dan’s Auto Repair. Enjoying NASCAR racing was one of his pleasures in life.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories two children Jesse Jane Williams of Illinois and Joshua Joseph Fontenot of New Iberia; his loving mother, Velma Fontenot; two sisters Anita Channette of New Iberia and Marlean Fontenot of Atlanta; godchildren Nicole Channette and Claudia Fontenot of New Iberia; two nieces Felicia and Missy Channette also of New Iberia; one nephew Joshua McGruder of Atlanta; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; and a host of other relatives and dear friends who know earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.

He now joins in glory his father Wilbert Fontenot; grandparents; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Velma Fontenot P.O. Box 12721 New Iberia, LA 70562 to defray funeral expenses.
