Homemade Blackberry Cobbler

First Layer:

2 blocks real butter (No substitutes)

3 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

One pinch of salt

In a saucepan, melt butter, add sugar, salt and flour and mix thoroughly. Mixture will be coarse. Pat down in greased 10x15 inch jelly roll pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Set aside to cool.

Second Layer:

3 (8 ounce) packs of cream cheese

1-1/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

Mix thoroughly until smooth and pour over first layer.

Third Layer:

1/4 cup melted butter

1 quart fresh blackberries

1 cup water

1/4 cup corn starch

1-1/2 cups sugar

Pour all ingredients in sauce pan and cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until thick. You may have to correct the sugar. Let stand for 10 minutes. Pour over second layer.

Fourth Layer:

1 block butter

1 cup biscuit mix

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup oatmeal

Melt butter in saucepan, add biscuit mix, brown sugar and oatmeal. Mixture will be crumbly. Sprinkle over third layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until slightly brown on top. Let cool for 5-10 minutes. It is best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Serves 12-15.
