Mable S. Moreaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Mable Segura “Mamin” Moreaux, 65, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  Fr. Blaine Clement will be the celebrant.  Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Coteau.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday at Evangeline Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until services on Tuesday.  The funeral home will remain open all night.  A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday by Mable's sister-in-law Ruby Segura.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Moreaux passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Dauterive Hospital.

Mable was a housekeeper with the Holiday Inn of New Iberia for the past 16 years.  “Mamin” as she was lovingly called, enjoyed playing video poker, going to the horse races and playing cards, especially boorae.  She was a devoted and loving mother, grand and great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her children Albert Moreaux, Shirley M. Neisser and husband, Clarence, Raymond “Black/Nego” Moreaux Jr. and wife, Angela and Hilton Moreaux all of New Iberia; 12 grandchildren Brandon, Angel, Derrick, Austin, Ashley, Jessica, C.J., Ethan, Bubba, Tiffany, Paula and Jazmine; her great-grandchildren Braydon, Alijah, Cade, Sadie, Icelynn and Devin; and her sister and brothers Lucille Gaspard, Lastie Segura, Tee John Segura, Joseph Segura, Dennis Segura Sr., and Reynolds Segura, all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Julia Comeaux Segura; and her brothers and sisters Sophie Alleman, Ellis “Crip” Segura, Mae Duhon, Zophide Maturin, Shirley Segura, Edward Segura, Walter Segura and two infant siblings.

Pallbearers will be Brandon, Derrick, Austin and Bubba Moreaux, Clarence Neisser Sr., CJ and Ethan Neisser.  Honorary pallbearers will be Albert, Raymond and Hilton Moreaux.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the 3rd Floor Staff of Dauterive Hospital for the care given to Mrs. Moreaux.
