A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Josephine Jeanlouis, 84, the former Josephine Gibson, will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at 1 p.m. at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jeanerette, with Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander officiating.

She will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday at the church from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

A native of Glencoe and resident of Jeanerette, she passed on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 11:28 p.m. at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a member of First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette and served as an usher. She was a member of Harry Eugene American Legion Post 549 Ladies Auxiliary.

She leaves in God’s care her loving husband, Robert Jeanlouis of Jeanerette; two sons Melvin Arceneaux (Peggy) of Houston, Texas and Ricky Jeanlouis of Lafayette; three daughters Christine Jeanlouis, Patricia Westley (Dwayne) and Carol Jeanlouis (Ron) all of Jeanerette; two brothers Ivory Gibson (Cora Nell) and Wilton Gibson (Lonnie) of Jeanerette; a foster sister Emma Mae Alexander of Jeanerette; special niece Joyce Colar Allen of Jeanerette; four godchildren Paul Colar, Debra M. Bouie, Jo’nell Slaughter and Jada Marks; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

She now joins in glory with her parents, Joseph Gibson and Cora Francois Gibson; brothers Edward Colar and William Gibson; one sister Mary G. Green; two sisters-in-law Alister T. Colar and Joyce Gibson; one brother-in-law McKinley Green.

 Active pallbearers will be William L. Colar Jr., Kazanski Colar Sr., Rodney Allen, Andrew Moore Jr., Wilton Gibson Jr. and Jared Hills.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ivory Gibson, Felton Colar Sr., Wilton Gibson Sr., Robert Jeanlouis, James Colar, Melvin Arceneaux, Ricky Jeanlouis, William Colar Sr., Travian Jeanlouis, Credric Arceneaux, Dwayne Westley, Ron Westley, Anthony Gibson, Kay Tyre White, Paul Colar and Jo’nell Slaughter Jr.
