YOUNGSVILLE — A Celebration of Life Service for Betty Joyce Russell Decuir, 61, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette with Rev. Cory Sparks of Faith Community United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Betty passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. She was a very self-sufficient woman who loved cooking and gardening. She was very gentle and loving.

She is survived by her son William M. Hebert of Youngsville; her brother George “Buddy” Russell and wife, Kay, of Montgomery, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews; Jenibel Rollins, Janice, Debra, Gaby, Susan and all of her friends from Stuller Inc., David’s Hardware and East Bayou Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Azile Smith Russell.

The family would like to thank Geraldine “Deanie” Hebert, Patty Rue and Brenda Harris for the special care they gave to Betty. They would also like to thank Hospice of Acadiana and the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
