John Ray Reaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. John Ray Reaux, 66, at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Fr. Chad Parrin, pastor of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Mansura, will be the celebrant.  Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass, with the recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m.

A native of Vermilion Parish, and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Reaux passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 in Mansura.

Mr. Reaux was retired from The Daily Iberian with 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Dore’ Reaux, of New Iberia; his children John Clint Reaux and wife, Jodi, of Baker, Chris Reaux Fichter and husband, Eddie, and Charles “Chuck” Reaux, all of New Iberia; his grandchildren Clint Aaron, Zachary Taylor and Daniel Albert Reaux, Elizabeth and Rebecca Fichter, Edward “Eddie” Fichter Jr., Ashley Camille and Brandon Reaux; a great-granddaughter Jamiya Rose Kelegon; brothers Howard J. Reaux and wife, Beverly, of Erath and Stanley J. Reaux and wife, Agnes, of New Iberia; and sisters-in-law Margie Reaux of Port Acres, Texas and Pat Reaux of Jeanerette.

Mr. Reaux was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Lucille LeMaire Reaux; and brothers Cleveland and Larry Reaux.

Pallbearers will be Clint, Zachary, Brandon, and Duke Reaux, Joey Songne and Ricky LeBlanc. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Reaux, Eddie Fichter Sr., Eddie Fichter Jr., Howard and Stanley Reaux, Elizabeth and Rebecca Fichter and Ashley Camille.
