Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Robert Legnon Sr., the former Viola DeRoche, 96, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Perkins officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and resume on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 8 a.m. until services.

A native of Ivanhoe, a former resident of Lydia most of her life and a current resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Legnon died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 6:10 a.m. in a New Iberia hospital.

She is survived by her son, Robert Legnon Jr. and his wife Linda of Jeanerette; her daughter Helen LaBiche of Lydia; her grandchildren Chad Legnon and his wife Caroline, Scott Legnon and his wife Liz, Nanette Farmer and her husband Jeff, Kip LaBiche and his wife Julie, Shani LaBiche, Paget LaBiche and Kauby LaBiche; her great grandchildren, Shanee’ Gross, Laura Landry, Anthony Legnon, Jenny Legnon, Amber Legnon, Katlyn Legnon, Lauren Farmer, Alyssa Martin, Amanda LaBiche, Christina LaBiche, Julia LaBiche and Callie Brasseaux; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Legnon Sr.; her parents, Sidney and Amanda Granger DeRoche; her daughter Ann Legnon; her sisters Aline DeRoche and Mable Hebert; and her son-in-law Russell LaBiche.

Pallbearers will be Chad Legnon, Scott Legnon, Kip LaBiche, Kauby LaBiche, Helen LaBiche and Robert Legnon Jr.
