Congrats to Gravois Boats

Published/Last Modified on Sunday, November 8, 2009 6:08 AM CST

I would like to congratulate Gravois Boats a/k/a Metal Shark for obtaining federal contracts recently from Navy and Coast Guard. I am sure so many here are proud of this home grown success story too! They are a perfect example of the American spirit of free enterprise success. As Henry Ford and many other businesses in the U.S. they started in the family garage.

Having taught “Free Enterprise” for 29 of my 30 years of teaching, the Gravois family has done all the right things which created the atmosphere for its success. They build a quality product for a fair price. And yes they could go anywhere but didn’t have to. The consumers found them because of the quality and fair price of a Gravois Boat.

And I appreciate Holly Leleux-Thubron for her excellent article on this great news. It is good to know that even in times where the economy is not so great, a local business is expanding and having such success. Also they were publicly congratulated by the governor and received commendations for their quality, hard work and dedication as I read in The Daily Iberian in a previous article.
