There is an infestation of loose chickens roaming the the area of the west side of town . These wild flying chickens are destroying homeowners property . They seem to be congregating from a house on West Washington Street next to a business . This chickens are roaming in taxpayers yards on West St. Peter , digging up flowerbeds , doing their business on people carports and driveways and flying all over the place . While driving I have even seen them on Lasalle and Field Street .  If I see these animals , I know for a fact the city councilmans that constantly ride around town must be aware the loose bothersome animals are causing problems for taxpaying property owners . This situation is entirely too obvious and distracting . I recently relocated on West St, Peter to  find these animals destroying my propertty and my neighbors property . Neighbors say this problem has been going on is getting worst  . What is the Mayor and the city councilman in this area going to do about this nuissance  ? Putting a fence would not help because they are flying all over when you run after them . They are circulating , digging  and crowing on properties  all day long .  These creatures should be kept in cages . Please , only  concrete answers will answers will help .

" D. Hertz is wrong about why the chicken crossed the road.

The chicken crossed the road in New Iberia to get to the trash dump at the end of the runway. The chicken will be fried real quick when it gets sucked down the intake on a jet engine! Goodbye chicken, and may the pilot rest in peace. "

" My guess is that the chickens probably escaped from the yard of someone who didn't mean to cause any harm. And, I suppose the owner of the loose chickens could be charged for each count of a loose animal. Although, I would understand if the IPSO was too busy arresting those harmful, ill intentioned, drug dealers pushing 300 lbs. of pot, instead of stopping to round up the loose chickens. But if the IPSO does do something about those pesky, messy, noisy chickens, I'm all for making a big pot of chicken gumbo! "

Seems you have a problem with IPSO.

You definately a very childish person with the type of comments you make.
Does it make you feel any better to bash IPSO about the donuts "

" I agree, I live on LaSalle street and these animals are unbearable. I have called the city and was told " If you figure out what to do with them call us and let us know". So Good Luck. I hope something is done real soon.I would kill them myself but thought about the IPSO charging me with cruelty to animals. Now wouldn't that be funny. Don't laugh and think its a joke until you have had to live with these animals walking across your lawn, pooing on your carport, and crowing all times of the day. "
