A native of Loreauville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at 7:05 a.m. at her residence in New Iberia. Mrs. Broussard was a religion teacher for 21 years and was awarded a medal for years of service to St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She was a member of The Catholic Medical Mission where she wrapped bandages and made hospital gowns from old tee shirts for the missions in Mexico. She also worked for the St. Francis diner for 29 years and the St. Francis Garage sale each week until her death. For 7 years she was Pink Lady at Iberia Medical Center and was named an honorary member. Mrs. Broussard was a member of the Senior Friends and traveled for several years with the Gloria Mundi Travel Group. She also belonged to the Mt. Carmel Mother’s Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy B. Peltier and husband Clay of New Iberia; grandchildren, Andre Peltier and wife Celeste of New Iberia and Angelle Cole and husband Jody of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Christian Peltier both of New Iberia.

Pallbearers were Jody Cole, Andre Peltier, Ronnie Broussard, John Berard, Kermit Comeaux and Wayne Dionne.
