Trick or Treating Safety

Parents, we are living in troublesome times....This is a reminder to accompany your kids while trick or treating. Dress them in light colored clothing or have something reflective. Don't just stop in front of a house and let the kids get out. Know who it is that is giving that candy.....in case you might have to backtrack some "laced" candy. Make sure the kids can "see" with their masks on. It is not wise to accept home-baked goods. Oh, last but certainly not least.....there are some costumes for little girls that look more like club clothes. Don't dress your little girl like a prosti-tot. There are too many pervs out at this time.......waiting!!!!

I love it... wrote on Nov 3, 2009 1:54 PM:

" I love your comment about prosti-tots. That was too funny. Halloween is so not the same as it was when I was a kid. I bought lots of candy and so did my dad. Unfortunately, apparently kids trick or treating are totally depleted. And parents doing drive-bys, shooting the kids out of the car to 'give me what you got' -like a robbery- then get in the get-a-way car and speed off. Oh well, whatcha gonna do??? "

" People tell their kids don't take candy from strangers but they let them go trick or treating. What's wrong with this picture? "

" I am upset and was scared to death for the safety of the children Saturday evening. Instead of the fun times we had as kids, Halloween has become a race to gather as much "booty" as possible. AND FOR WHAT, A FEW PIECES OF CANDY? Normal traffic is bad enough when kids are walking the streets in their own neighborhoods, but now there are vehicles scouring the neighborhoods with groups of kids jumping in and out. Also, groups of teenagers walking the streets using vulgar and rude language. Our City and Parish Councils should enforce and strengthen ordnances here.. "
