Time to nominate players for games of Oct. 22-23

It's time for fans to nominate players for Dauterive Hospital/Daily Iberian Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for games of Oct. 22 and 23.

To nominate a player, post a comment at the end of this story, listing the player's name and school, whether he plays offense or defense, and the reasons for the nomination, including such factors as statistics (yards rushing/passing, touchdowns, etc. on offense; interceptions, tackles, sacks on defense).

The top players from among those nominated will be selected by the sports staff of The Daily Iberian for inclusion in a poll on The Daily Iberian Web site's sports page (www.iberianet.com/sports) that will run from Monday afternoon through Thursday afternoon.

The top vote-getter on offense and the top vote-getter on defense are named the Players of the Week and honored with a story in Friday's Daily Iberian. The winning players also receive a special T-shirt and certificate for their efforts.
