Lanny J. Herring

Funeral Services will be conducted for Lanny J. Herring, 62, on Monday, Oct. 26 at David Funeral Home Chapel on Trotter Street at 2 p.m., with Rev. Brad Bullock officiating. Internment will be at Beau Pre Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

A New Iberia native and Catholic High School graduate, Lanny passed away at Shreveport Veteran’s Hospital on Oct. 23, 2009 at 7:30 a.m. 

He served his country in the Marine Corps, and was a firearms specialist.  Lanny started and successfully managed several businesses over the years.  He was a member of Partners of the Americas and helped to build several schools in El Salvador.  He was a volunteer for the New Iberia Sheriff’s Reserves.  Lanny was also a dedicated member of The Crossing Place Fellowship of Franklin. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Cecil James Herring and Mrs. Alberta Herring, and by his brother Charles Herring.

He is survived by his wife Judy Herring; his sister Janis Herring; daughters Chantel Rabeaux and husband Timmy and Jennifer Voehringer, all of New Iberia; and two grandchildren, Kirsten Bourque and Ashton Rabeaux of New Iberia.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Rabeaux, Andy Magers, Joe Langston, Steve Miguez, Blake Miguez and Robin Tompson.
