Nominate players for games of Oct. 15-16

Published/Last Modified on Monday, October 19, 2009 10:42 AM CDT

It's time for Teche Area football fans to nominate players for Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors.

To nominate a player, post a comment at the end of this story listing the player's name AND school, whether he is being nominated for offense or defense, and the reasons for the nomination (statistics, game-changing plays, etc).

The top players from among those nominated will be listed in a poll at www.iberianet.com/sports that will run from Monday at 2 p.m. through Thursday at 2 p.m.

The top offensive and defensive vote getters in those polls will be the Players of the Week for the seventh week of the high school season and will be listed in a story to run Friday in The Daily Iberian.

The winning players also receive a special T-shirt and certificate, sponsored by Dauterive Hospital and The Daily Iberian.

OK, ya'll need to stop! Quiet as it is kept. I heard what the score was a couple of weeks ago when you all played that school in north Louisiana and they beat you down 52-0. Did you all have a endzone that day or Zach just couldn't find it! "
