Sorry Charlie

Charlie Melancon voted for Pelosi to be Speaker, not once, but twice. He voted for all the bailouts. He voted for the horrendous stimulus package. He refused to have any town hall meetings. There was a bill proposing that members of congress have the great health care package they are trying to force on us, Charlie voted against it.  I'm guessing it is not all that good of a plan :-).  He supposedly is Pro-Life, yet there was a vote in committee that was 31-27 to pass an amendment that would prohibit any mandate requiring abortion coverage to be included in the health care bill. Of course the abortion advocates, like Pelosi, wanted a second vote on this. In order for a second vote on this to be allowed, abortion advocated needed permission from the members on the committee. Our congressman, Charlie Melancon voted to allow a revote.  Thanks for the info Griffon.

    " To Old Eagle:
There are closet pro-abortionists in every religion, even yours. You are extemely naive if you don't believe that. The same goes for pro-birth control. The same goes for gays, etc.
You must be over 70yrs old if you believe likewise. It's your old out-dated ideas that doesn't allow this nation to progress and maybe do more to prevent abortions by other means (adoption, funding for the unwed mother, etc.) than trying to condemn those who follow the law as it is written now. Still trying to find "religions" that support abortion - can you help me out? "

" I don't think that abortion (murder of innocent children) or "Separation of Church and State" are in the the Constitution. TC why don't you read it again. The left has done a great job of distorting things and convincing people that it is all constitutional. The Constitution is not a secret document, the average citizen can read it whenever he wants to. "

This week I was watching T V and the discussion was about Polanski's rape charges!
Whoopi Goldberg wants them dismissed! One of the people in the discussion said Whoopi Goldberg has admitted to having SEVEN abortions!!! It appears people with her MORALS think of abortion the same as having a good BOWEL movement!!!

We are more concerned with preventing Cruelty to Animals than our CHILDREN!!!

Jesus said"It were better for a man to have a millstone around his neck and be thrown into the sea than harm these little ones" "

" To outraged. TC never said abortion was in the constitution, he stated it was defended by the constitution. You extremists forget this country was founded on everyone's freedom to believe any religion you choose, not just what Christianity thinks. Abortion is immoral by your religion, not by all religions or beliefs. If it were truly considered by the Constitution as murder, it wouldn't be allowed. And by the way all the justices were not put in place just by the Democrats. "

It's a shame when someone loses self respect and dignity all because he wanted to be with the big boys in politics which whom usually turn out to be scumbags. It's almost like selling your soul to the devil. "

You don't want religious fanatics making laws to defend their outrageous beliefs?????
    That saws it ALL!!!
This COUNTRY AND its LAWS were founded of CHRISTIAN VALUES!!!
It is just in the last 30 or so years that the GODLESS LIBERALS have HIJACKED this country and it's values!! This was accomplished through the ACTIVIST JUDGES appointed by GODLESS LIBERAL DEMOCRATS!!!
It is your GODLESS views we will replace!!!
Abortion is NOT in the Constitution!!! "

" Like it or hate it, abortion is defended by the constitution of the U.S. Your issues are moral ones, not legal ones. I don't believe abortion is right, but I'm ProChoice. AND, I truly support the constitution on the separation of church and state. I don't want some religous fanatics making laws to defend their outrageous beliefs. That's not saying that abortion is moral; it's legal, is my point. You Republicans had 8 years to try to change Roe vs Wade. What happened? "

" Fact is, Senator Vitter will continue to serve this state in the United States Senate. Charlie Melancon sold himself to the Washington Democrats; he knew he would not win his congressional seat again due to re-districting so he cut a deal. Plain & simple....he will be working for the Obama administration once he loses next year. "

And don't give me that line that abortion is a RIGHT!!! There is no such right!! Everyone who votes for politicians that would put a person on the court that supports the position that abortion is legal,is themselves just as guilty as the doctor that KILLS INNOCENT BABIES!!! "

" To TC What have you done for all of the situations you mentioned or are you one of those that chastise others because they do not want their tax dollars support the killing of the innocent ones? The Supreme Court was wrong, they are not infallible. Back to why Charlie Melancon should not be a senator, mainly because he is not a good representative and follows the edicts of his party’s leaders and would not give his constituents the time of day this summer. Who does he really represent, himself or his constituents? "

" Senator Vitter is certainly more fit to be in the Senate than the left's poster boy of "ol Ted (chappaquiddick) Kennedy" was. All he did was murder a woman!

As for TC, When will we prolifers get off of our soapbox? oh I don't know, how about when murder in this country becomes illegal!! When will you immoral people quit shoving your immorality down our throats?!! "

" Hey TC and public citizen, why don't you defend Charlie against what was said, instead of spinning. TC, I am not on here crusading against abortion, I was simply pointing out that Charlie tells the voters he is pro-life, yet votes to allow a re-vote because Pelosi wanted him to do so. I was simply pointing out an example of him either not telling us the truth, or his being a lap dog for Nancy Pelosi. You are the one who jumped up on to a soapbox. Now I am confused, are you the Pot, or the Kettle? "

" "TC": Of course politicians support abortion rights - who do you think appoints / approves Supreme Court judges? Who do you think sneaks abortion funding into every bill they can?
And "sterilization of the welfare mothers"? WOW. You are the perfect DNC socialist clone. "

" When will you ProLifers get off your soapbox and stop accusing politicians for abortion rights. The supreme court's ruling is why abortions are legal. If you pro-lifers would spend more time...adopting unwanted babies, paying for the upkeep on children of unwed mothers, support sterilization of the welfare mothers, etc. then you may get somewhere in your fight on abortion. But no, it's easier for you cry foul and not get involved. What a bunch of wussies. "
