Teche Area high school football fans are asked to nominate players for offensive and defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth week of the high school football season following games on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

Fans may nominate players for offensive or defensive honors by posting a comment at the bottom of this story, listing the player's name and school, whether he is an offensive or defensive player, and reasons for the nomination such as statistics or key plays.

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, Sept. 28 at noon. From those nominations, the sports staff of The Daily Iberian will select the top candidates, who will be listed in a poll on The Daily Iberian Web site (www.iberianet.com), which can be found by clicking the Sports link near the top of the Web site's front page.

The program, sponsored by Dauterive Hospital and The Daily Iberian, will continue for the 10 weeks of the regular season, with fans nominating players and then voting for their choices each week.

Wow! Did I step on your toes, sorry. Obviously you are not reading correctly. 1. Go back and read--then understand what you are reading. (Holes were made for Julien).
    2. Read the instructions for voting for players: Fans may vote for their choice of Player of the Week. DUH!!! "

" this so called observer jus gave this whole team thing and said how well the line blocked then turns around and says bj broke through without anyone making holes lol wake up and stop being ignorant really the fans shouldnt be able to vote on player of the week because they usually vote for their team instead of who really deserves it "

" Thanks "General Observer"- You said it best.
The entire team played well. I agree with you 100%. And yes, Jermaine did add a spark to LHS, when he took that run down the field. "

    " To Loreauville:
You should nominate the O blockers that made the holes for Nicholas Julien to go through.
Then once you do that, nominate JJ for giving the team a chance to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
After that, then you can nominate Nicholas Julien for being a team player and doing his part of what a team does. He played a very good game, just as the entire team did, including BJ Greene, who broke through without anyone making a hole for him.
So, Loreauville, be mindful of your alluding comments. "

Ian racked up 4 tackles for a loss, 3 solo tackles and ended up with 12 total tackles for the game. Great effort from this CHS junior defensive end. Catholic won 35 - 15. "

So let's talk these guys up, they deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BIG RED!!!!!!! "
