If you think the GOP is going to overturn 'Roe v Wade', your chasing an illusion. Did you ever question why six years of complete control of all branches of government by the republican party never produced a single legitimate legislation that threatened to ban abortion. Nevermind that it's a supreme court issue, why do conservatives continue to believe that a republican in office will ever lead to the abolition of abortion ? "

The US House is the sole authority for federal impeachment. The US Senate is the sole authority for determining guilt or innocence. Clinton was legally (not technically) impeached by a simple majority of the House and referred to the Senate for trial. Guilt, at the Senate level, requires a two-thirds majority. The Senate failed to get the two-thirds majority.
Clinton was impeached but not found guilty. "

The US House didn’t “try” to impeach Clinton. They actually impeached him.
As a fellow Christian, I am sorry you couldn’t find how impeachment works in the Bible. Perhaps you should try another source. "

Senator Kennedy voted for supreme court justices who shared his views, just as the Republicans voted for the ones who shared theirs; no difference in either party!
Everyone in congress, democrats and republicans, play political games everyday. If you think different, then you are in DENIAL! Look at the hypocrisy exposed when they TRIED to impeach Clinton! "

Writing an NSF check is technically stealing and therefore a sin as well. Last time I looked, murder was also a crime. You said: "There is no large or small sin; a sin is a sin!"
Kennedy voted no for prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortions, as well as for notifying parents of this. He voted no for partial birth abortions and for maintaining the ban on military base abortions.
If a woman wants to kill her newborn baby, is that also HER moral decision? Where do you draw the line and why? "
My 2 cents wrote on Sep 5, 2009 8:23 AM:
Appalled: your response about millions of babies being slaughtered is appalling! How did the Senator accomplish this? The Supreme Court ruled that abortions are legal, not the Senator. If a woman wants to have one that's HER moral decision, not yours, mine or anyone else on this earth. "
Tom wrote on Sep 4, 2009 3:48 PM:
Your “loyalty to a political party” comment is laughable. Kennedy murdered a woman either because he wanted her dead or because he was a coward. You can’t be serious when you indicate Vitter’s crime of engaging a prostitute is equal to Kennedy’s crime of murder or manslaughter ?
Pray to the democrats if you want but they are not my god. "

To pretend Vitter is a moral, virtuous person in the face of his blatant immorality is exactly the sort of blind party devotion that earns the ridicule of sane, rational people. "
neworleanscajun wrote on Aug 31, 2009 6:58 AM:
You ARE kidding? Right?
In July,1969, Kennedy drove (probably drunk) a young woman (not his wife) away from a party. He had forgotten the bridge was out (wonder why) and drove into the water. After managing to get out, instead of going for help, he called his aides and then went to sleep. It's estimated that the young woman was alive for 45 minutes until the water finally replaced the air bubble. He got a two month suspended sentence.
This is only ONE of the "indiscretions" that you excuse. What was that about Vitter? "
Frank Rizzo wrote on Aug 31, 2009 5:57 AM:
"if you spent over 50 years in the eyes of the public, how many indiscretions would be discovered about you?"
Well they certainly would not discover murder, rape, nor pregnant campaign workers in my past. If anybody else had a list of "indiscretions" such as these they would be considered criminals, not great Senators. Suppose Vitter were kicked out of Harvard for cheating, had allegations of possible rape, was responsible for the death of a pregnant campaign worker, would people idolize him as one of the greatest of all men? "

I hope you all like potatoe soup and cheese sandwhiches. All the while remember that the Dem.'s you voted for will be having champagne and prime rib.
Cheers !! "
