Best Western robbed this morning

Iberia Parish authorities are looking for five men who reportedly robbed the Best Western hotel this morning. The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said five black men wearing bandannas on their faces reportedly robbed a hotel employee and a guest at gun point around 4:45 a.m.

The victims were forced into a bathroom as the suspects got away with a “substantial amount” of money, said Capt. Wendell Raborn, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Witnesses reported seeing a gray Buick drive around the hotel on Louisiana 14 shortly before the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact sheriff’s officials at 369-3711.

    " Can somebody say "National Guard " Do like they did in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. Bring in the Guard. Anything is better then the run-away crime we have now. They may not be POST Certified but they can patrol the horrible streets with loaded guns,,, that will help. "

    " They better catch them because every crook and theif in new iberia is watching and if they get away, look out.. businesses install survelliance cameras, hire security guards, get trained guard dogs.
