 I must first start off with, my husband and I are a hard working couple.  We both have jobs that pay average.  Neither of us drive new car cars, nor have we ever driven a new car or had a car payment for that matter.  We do not believe in "keeping up with the Jones"  We work hard so that we can provide our children with nice things, note that I did not say "the finer things" 

 But I must say that when I went through my mail on Tuesday evening and came across a flyer that stated "Do you receive regular FOOD STAMP Benifits?  If so then you are GURANTEED A  FREE HOME PHONE with Caller ID, Call Waittig, and Unlimited Long Distance!"  I went CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!  As I stated above, my husband and I work hard for everything we have, and yet every other month we end up having to empty what little savings we have accumlated to make it through the next pay period.  Why is it that while we are busting our humps, other people are handed everything for doing absuletly nothing?

It makes me sick to my stomach that everytime I get to the checkout counter at the grocery store that I might have to put something back, because I can only spend $125.00 a week on groceries and household supplies.  I use coupons, buy generic and store brand products when I can  and yet every week it seems like I am getting less and less groceries and house hold goods.  But yet here comes the women with food stamps, two buggies full of junk and not a care in the world.

I should state that in order to pay for summer camp this summer, we had to pinch pennies buy suspending our cable, phone and internet service to save money until the children went back to school.  The chidren were upset, but they surived by watching DVD's and playing board games and reading books.  It wasn't all bad, but many a times how I wished I just could have turned on Disney for them or let them get on line for WEBLINZs.  

My husband and I each have a cell phone through work, so it was not like we were cut off from the entire world, but it was extremely hard!  And yet regardless of the sacrifice that we make as hard working americans, once again we are punished day after day for doing the right thing!  I want to know when am I going to be rewarded for doing the right thing!!!!!

    " Bless your heart. I, too, am 1/2 of a two income family with children. We are much of the same...never having a new car or at least a car 2 or 3 years old to say the least. We cut back and cut back in order to provide for our family. We do not qualify for any assistance due to we both have full time jobs (even though we process check by check).
