Funeral services for Germaine Christopher Brooks, 32, will be on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home, New Iberia, with Pastor Harolyn Ledet and Rev. Joseph Darby officiating. He will await the resurrection at Picard Cemetery, Milton.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until the time of service.

A residence of New Iberia, Mr. Brooks passed on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at 11:07 p.m. at Iberia Medical Center.  He was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High School and employed in Lafayette. He was also a prophet at True Anointing Christian Fellowship of New Iberia and served in the United States Army.

He leaves in God’s care his parents, Rena Brooks of New Iberia and Clarence Wiltz of Dallas; two half-brothers and three half-sisters; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He joins in glory with his maternal grandparents, Irene Brooks George and Dalton Brooks; and paternal grandmother.

Active and honorary pallbearers will be members of the family.

The family requested the professional care of Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 W. Admiral Doyle Drive, 369-3341.

    " My Condolence to the family of Germaine he was an insperation to me though we had our UPs and Down there was never a doubt of our love for one another no matter what life threw our way we would always be there for each other, I think that's what define's a true friendship when one can look beyound each other faults and just be a friend to them The Bilbe says to be absent from the body is to be present with GOD! and my bible also tells me that as a beliver I'll see you again "
