A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Delton Dore, the former Donna Delahoussaye, 61, at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Fr. Michael Arnaud will be the celebrant. Readers for the Mass will be Judy Douet and Nicole Delahoussaye. Erica Bass and Christina Vice will serve as gift bearers. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum.

The family has requested that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday from 8 a.m. until services.

A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Donna passed away at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at her residence with her family at her side.

Mrs. Dore was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. She was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Donna enjoyed ceramics and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, daughter, aunt and dear friend who will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Delton J. Dore; her mother, Florence D. Delahoussaye; her special nephews David S. Delahoussaye, Brien H. Delahoussaye (her godchild) and Jamie T. Delahoussaye and a great-grand niece Juliana Delahoussaye. She is also survived by her godchildren Philip Trahan, Shawntelle Oliveri and Erica Bass; her godfather Junius Delahoussaye; special friends Mary Rodrigue, Chris Landry and Mrs. Nellie Broussard, whom the family would like to thank for her care and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willis J. Delahoussaye; brother Randy J. Delahoussaye; nephew and godchild Ramsey J. Delahoussaye; her grandparents, Mable and Ray Delcambre and Duplex and Edolie H. Delahoussaye; and godmother Virgie Trahan.

Members of the family will serve as pallbearers.
