Iberia Parish Jail

I want to let those people out there know that Iberia Parish is making their inmates sleep on the floor of their holding cell, because they are so overcrowded. You may not think this is a big deal, but you try sleeping on the hard concrete floor for over a month! Plus, since this person has no"formal" charges against him in Iberia Parish, they will continue to "hold" him in this holding tank until further notice...this inmate might be there for a very, long, time...he also told of a man "going #2" in his pants because the guard wouldn't open the door to let the inmate go to the restroom...no toilet, no bunks....overcrowding in every cell, spilling over to the holding cells? What is Iberia Parish gonna do next, put them outside in storage trailers once they finally run out of room? Shame on the parish and the people who oversee this facility, and their lack of decent morals...who's to say they are better than those in there?

I truely hope you or a family member never has to go through that, also just to let you know people that don't pay traffic tickets or other misdomeanor issues are also put in jail and treated the same way "

So tell me again why they should be treated with such dignity? Did they treat their victims with such dignity? Yes I agree a tent needs to be pitched for them, just like in Arizona. Now let's talk about sub-human. Isn't sub-human to kill, injure, rape, rob, steal, consume illegal narcotics, sell illegal narcotics to children and so forth? Cry somewhere else David. "

Sometimes there may be mistaken identity and the wrong person is jailed then what ? I hope for your sake you are not that person . There is also more compassion in the humane society for animal control . Sure a person must pay their debt to society but they must maintain thier personhood . Pitch a tent , feed them right , maintain dignity . "
