Little Kids Left In Cars

As horrible as it is I can see how someone may forget a baby in the car. Tell everyone you know with babies or toddlers to put their purse or lunch on the back seat near the baby so they can't forget the baby in a hot car. If you do not carry a purse, or you are a man, put a rubber band on your wrist as a reminder. As for the morons who knowingly leave a kid in a burning hot car to go shopping, well there is just not much you can do with morons, except put them in prison after the fact.

" So, you would remember taking your purse or your lunch from the back seat of a car, but not your CHILD! How fricking stupid is that. Newsflash: if your purse or your lunch is more important than your child, then you probably shouldn't have children. "

" Forgetting your child can and does happen. When my second daughter was 2, she is now 14, i forgot her in the car for about 15 min. My routine was to drop her at the babysitter but i didnt that day. Luckily i wasnt at my aunts house long. She feel asleep during the 30 min ride. By the grace ofGod she was fine and still sleeping when i found her. I was shaken to the core and have checked car seats ever since. "

" Thanks Manny! At least you have enough sense to post something that may help someone later on in life. Hopefully these other "perfect parents" will come around. Gee, I really wish I were a fly on the wall in their homes. Just because you are 60 means nothing. In some cases the grandparents have been the ones to forget the children in the car. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." "

" A little free advertisement here, I unlock these cars for free when there is a child locked inside.

That being said I could tell you many, many stories of children being locked inside of their car. Granted most of them are truly accidents and the parents or grandparents are understandably upset. However there are some occasions where the children were intentionally left inside while the parents or grandparents go shopping, which is unbelievable to me, but it happens often. "

" Apparently you don' know. Sometimes the baby is sleeping and doesn't "let you know" they are there. Do you not watch the news? It happens more than once every summer. As for your grandkids, I sure hope you aren't poisoning them against their mother. You sound like Raymond's mom on the tv show "Everybody Loves Raymond." "

" How do you FORGET a child in a car? A mother or anyone taking care of a child[children] all day long or even half the day surley wouldn'tforget a child, theres'too much noise and/or they let you know that they are there. I take care of my grandbabies, they are 5,4,3 years old, and I promise you DON'T forget that they are around! Thank god I am able to tend to them, because the mother[not my daughter] is a bad mom, the children and I are so lucky to have each other. "

" This started out as just a basic tip. The reality is, there are some people out there that actually have forgotten kids in their cars ALL DAY. The sad thing is, this is the same generation that goes crazy if they forget their cell phone at home. They will even turn around and go back home to get it. Sadly, children are not a major part of parents' lives anymore. Get mad at me for saying it, but just look around and see it.. God have mercy on us all. "

" WOW! How about we all stop argueing over petty posts and say prayer for the children and parents out there? Seriously, don't judge too quickly, least God may give you a trial. "

" Manny, pay no attention to those posting who are such "perfect parents". Thank you for caring enough about kids to give out positive tips and hopefully help someone! "

" Hey Seen It All, I am still laughing at your childish post. Whether you like it or not kids are left in cars and they die. I give a tip that may save a kid's life and you paint me out to be an idiot with poor blood circulation to the brain. To insane, a tip that can save a life should not be given because the parent should know better. Let the kid die because the parent should know better, GREAT LOGIC. "

SEEN it ALL wrote on Jul 21, 2009 9:03 PM:

" To Manny: Why don't you put a rubber band around your neck! It might make you aware you have a KID in the car? Or maybe you should remove the rubber band to improve circulation to your brain! "

" I don't understand why any parent would need a reminder that they "May" have their child in the backseat. Check either way. My youngest child is in college and I still check the backseat whenever I get out of the car. "

" How can you bring abortion into this? I am against abortion, but come on!!!!! We are talking about a parent who temporarily has their mind overloaded and tragically forgets that their child is in the backseat and you twist it to they don't care about their child, their lunch is more important, abortion is part of the problem. People, be afraid of religious zealots, be VERY afraid. "

Manny wrote on Jul 21, 2009 5:36 PM:

" One reason it occurs so much more often now is because almost every mom works theses days. It did not happen to me because I wasn't driven to daycare when I was a baby. Another reason you hear about it more is 24 hour news. When we were young, if you didn't hear Cronkite at 5:30 you didn't get the news. No one's lunch is more important than their baby, the lunch is just a tool to make sure you don't forget the baby. How you can't see that boggles my mind. "

me wrote on Jul 21, 2009 5:05 PM:

" Bottom line is how can you possibly forget the child you put in the car seat ten minutes earliler. I for the life of me cannot imagine forgetting I have my child with me somewhere. if you are that forgetful then you should be the poster child for abortionists "

To seen it all wrote on Jul 21, 2009 3:48 PM:

" I agree with you 100%. I don't understand it either. Have we gotten to the generation of kids raising kids? Nothing should be more important to us than our children not even a dang on job. Thank God for Grandmas because some of these young people have no idea what it is to take care of a child. God help Us!! "

" To: Manny ,Jess and Soon To Be Mom I'm over 60 years old! It is just in the last few years that this phenomenon has been occurring!!! So why is it occurring so often?Could it be we don't value human life as much as we once did?ABORTION is one factor!!!When your POCKETBOOK,LUNCH or CELLPHONE are more important than your CHILD,well I don't understand! "

    mama27 wrote on Jul 21, 2009 8:19 AM:

" Too bad we couldn't put the cell phone attached to the kid. Maybe, we'd notice a kid while in a hurry to see where our cell phones are.HMMMM? Also, my prayers go out to the mothers who actually did it by accident. "

Manny wrote on Jul 21, 2009 6:06 AM:

" There have been cases where the dad usually brings the kid to daycare everyday, but on that day the mom was to bring the baby to daycare, loaded the baby in the car, and then forgot about the baby. But every single day when the mom gets to work she always takes her purse out of the car. Have you not heard of the many cases of babies who died after being forgotten in hot cars? YOU scare ME. "

Manny wrote on Jul 21, 2009 6:00 AM:

" This is for Seen It All. Apparently you never watch the news. EVERY summer there is at least one case of a parent forgetting a toddler in a hot car and the child dies. Sometimes a mom puts a baby in the car seat, the baby is asleep the entire time (doesn't cry) and the mom forgets to drop the kid at daycare. Women almost never forget their purse. I'm sorry you have such a small comprehension level. "

Seen It All wrote on Jul 20, 2009 5:26 PM:

" To Manny: YOU scare me! Anyone who would FORGET their child in their car is BEYOND me!!! You suggest that you wouldn't forget your PURSE or LUNCH but you would forget your CHILD!!!! Please spare me! "

" Good tips..and in a good way, instead of critizing someone. We never know how hetic someone's life is unless we're in their shoes, or what their thinking. But hopefully we can bring enough awareness to stop it from happening again. "

" That is a great tip! There are also mirrors that you can buy that attach to your back seat and you can look throught your rear view mirror into this mirror in the back seat and have a view of the rear facing car seat. It is ALWAYS a good idea to check the car seat before you leave the car, even if you know you do not have the baby that day. Take a second and perhaps, save a life! "
