Willis ‘Neg’ Romero

YOUNGSVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Willis “Neg” Romero, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009, at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Mouton officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2009, from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday, July 3, 2009, at 8 a.m. till services. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.

A native of New Iberia and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Romero died at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was a cattle farmer who only used John Deere tractors. He worked as custodian for Comeaux High School and Youngsville Middle School.

He is survived by wife, Beverly Jane Romero, of Youngsville; a daughter Amanda Romero Baker and husband, Kurt; three sons Ricky Romero and wife, Sally, Bryan James Romero and wife, Cindy, and John “Johnny” Willis Romero and wife, Anna; eight grandchildren Blake, Aaron, Chase, Cody, Shawn, Jared, Johnathon Romero and Jana Romero Jones; a great-grandchild Elizabeth “Lizzy” Romero; one brother Menson Romero and wife, Marie; a sister Hazel Romero and husband, Alex.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyesse and Norma Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Coty Romero, Johnathon Romero, Johnny Romero, Bryan Romero, Ricky Romero and Blake Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Romero, Chase Romero, Shawn Romero, Jared Romero, Donavon Romero and Casey Jones.
