COTEAU — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Sandra “Sandy” Comeaux Garza, 57, who died Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Lafayette.

Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant.

Born on Feb. 18, 1952, in New Iberia, Sandy was a resident of Lafayette and was retired from the State of Louisiana.

Survivors include her mother, Lillian LeBlanc Comeaux of Coteau; sisters Lucy Comeaux Kim of Katy, Texas; Kathy Comeaux Viator of Coteau; nephews Chad Viator, Shannon Viator and wife, Theresa, Michael Kim and Chris Kim.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Comeaux.

Pallbearers include her nephews David Garza and Destin Delahoussaye.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd. in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
