Margarette “Ellen” Parker

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Margarette “Ellen” Parker, 62, who passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in New Iberia.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Leleux will officiate.

Born on Feb. 26, 1947, “Ellen” enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and was a member of The Glorious Church Worship Center in New Iberia.

Survivors include her sister Martha Sue Parker of New Iberia; brother Charles Winston Parker of Richmond, Ky.; nieces and nephews Monica David, Purvis David Jr., Gerald Romero Jr., John B. Romero, Tricia Romero all of New Iberia, Shawnee Romero Jones of Lafayette, Melia Danielle Parker of Bayou Vista, and Paulette Lambert of Montgomery, Ala..

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Rubert and Mary Louise Carter Parker; and a sister Patricia Romero.

Pallbearers will be Purvis David Jr., Gerald Romero Sr., Gerald Romero Jr., John B. Romero, Jeremy Romero and Rick Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers include Jacob Romero, Richie Jones, Jace Guidry, Cade Guidry and Charles Parker.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd. in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
