Howard C. LaCoste Sr.

DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Howard Charles LaCoste, Sr., 79, at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating.  Interment will follow at Migues Cemetery with military honors by Vermilion Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time.

A native of Berwick and resident of Erath, Mr. LaCoste  passed away at 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at a Lafayette hospital.

Mr. LaCoste was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Berard & Sons as a tug boat captain for many years.

He is survived by his three sons, Wayne LaCoste and Wade LaCoste and wife Debra all of Erath and Howard LaCoste, Jr. of Abbeville; two daughters, Linda L. Davis and husband Gary of Baton Rouge  and JoAnn L. LeBlanc and husband Carlos of Erath; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose Gray LaCoste; wife, Dorothy LeBlanc LaCoste; one son, Kerry LaCoste, Sr; three brothers, Ernest LaCoste, Irving LaCoste and Forest LaCoste; and seven sisters, Irene Budge, Bessie Grow, Elzina Bourgeois, Shirley Boudreaux, Alverda Pinson, Edolia Angeron and Euncie LaCoste.

Pallbearers will be Wayne LaCoste, Jr., Logan LaCoste, Kerry LaCoste, Jr., Shane LeBlanc, Adam LaCoste, Patrick Davis and Christopher LaCoste.
