Carlton J. ‘Penn’ Pennier

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Carlton James ‘Penn’ Pennier, 52, Thursday, June 25, 2009, 10 a.m. at Interfaith Fellowship Church, New Iberia.

Carlton will rest in Memorial Park Cemetery, New Iberia.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, at the funeral home from 7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Carlton was born on July 26, 1956, to the union of Edward Carsten Pennier and Leora Auguillard Pennier. Carlton was called by the Lord on June 20, 2009.  He was a member of Harvest Time in Abbeville.  A 1975 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School, he was employed at Morton Salt of Weeks Island for 25 plus years.

He leaves in God’s care, his wife Roselyn Simon Pennier; two sons, Jamal Pennier and Rogerio Pennier all of New Iberia; one daughter, Enjoli Pennier (Devery Henderson) of Saint Rose; his mother, Leora Auguillard Pennier of New Iberia; one brother, Carsten Pennier (Margaret) of Slidell; three sisters, Jeanette Hills, Patsy Singleton of New Iberia and Katherine White of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Amiree Henderson of Saint Rose; mother-in-law, Susie Sias Simon, special friends Merylon Ledet, Lisa Carline, and Courtney Key; sisters-in-law, Joceline Sias, and Monica Horn of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Keith Simon, of Loreauville; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He joins in glory with his father, Edward Carsten Pennier; maternal grandparents, Athalre Auguilllard and Henri Auguillard; paternal grandparents, Ovide Pennier and Estella Pennier; former wife, Mary Jane Potier Pennier.

Pallbearers will be Mark Delahoussaye, Joseph Frilot, Chris Jones, William ‘Lil Bill’ Charles, David Lightfoot and Mark Broussard.

Public condolences may be expressed at www.fletcherfuneralhomes.org. The family requested the professional care of Fletcher Funeral Home, 1116 Green Street, Abbeville, 893-2440.
