Gladys I. Hatch

Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Alton Hatch, the former Gladys Inman, 93, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Brother Lawrence “Mitch” Maricle officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Tuesday until service time.

A native of Cogdell, Ga., and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hatch passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009, at Iberia Extended Care.

Mrs. Hatch worked for H. R. Kress Department Store in Waycross, Ga., and did some substitute school teaching until she married and became a full time homemaker. She did volunteer work in religious education for the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ann Hatch Kinchen and her husband, Bobby, of Vero Lake Estate, Fla., and Sheila Kay Hatch Johns and her husband, Harvey, of New Iberia; four grandchildren Jeffery Moneyhan and his wife, Loretta, Tibra Parker and her husband, Eddie, Jaimie Johns and his wife, Charlene, and Joel Johns and his wife, Shanda; 10 great-grandchildren Jaymie Johns Quantana and her husband, Jason, Allison Johns, Lauren Johns Arceneaux and her husband, Brandon, Logan Johns, Brandi, Bobby and Madison Moneyhan, Trey, Harrison and Hatch Parker; and two great-great-grandchildren McKayla and Ashlan Moneyhan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Hatch; her parents, Henry Lee and Catherin Herrin Inman; son David Thomas Hatch; sisters Agnes Lowery and Vera Mae Hamilton; and brother David Clyde Inman.

Pallbearers will be Jaimie Johns, Logan Johns, Troy Hatch, Jason Quintana, Leroy Hill and Jerrell Slaughter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Arceneaux, Joel Johns and Jeffery Moneyhan.
