just thinking about the years gone by. See if you remember any of these...Grapette drink, taps on shoes (weren't we cool?), Mr Henry's shoe repair shop on Robertson Street, red boudin, The Specialty Store, The NILA theater, Mr. Toffie Ackal's store, Sputnik, Pelican Creamery, all the M&M Drive Inns, coon skin caps made famous by Davey Crockett, the Pat Boone white shoes, Latin Catholic mass, & Mr. Mac's Mirror Room. Television shows like Pinky Lee, Rin-Tin-Tin, Commando Cody, Howdy Doody, Sea Hunt, Whirlybirds, Sky King, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, and many more. Just reminiscing...Feel free to jump in.

I remember the dances at the Teenage Center on Friday nights. Those days were really great days to have lived through. We were so fortunate to have a place to go to for entertainment and great local talented bands that played for our dancing entertainment. I was one that lived on that dance floor all night long. What wonderful memories of those days. Too sad that the kids today have nothing for entertainment. We should be counting our blessings we were allowed back in the day. "

give each of us a quarter. It was fifteen
cents to get in. We would look through the glass counter at the nickle candies. A coke was ten cents and popcorn was also ten cents. I wondered how those
hot dogs going roung and round would taste. Finally one of us would buy a coke and the other popcorn and we would share. "

We always watched the Buckskin Bill show, and Captain Kangaroo, in the morning on channel 10 out of Lafayette.
It was a big deal to us as kids when we finally got a color T.V. set, like our grandparents had. It was also a big deal to us when we got Cable.
The Carroll Burnette Show was so funny. I would laugh so hard that I would sometimes have tears streaming-down-my-face. "
