First Lady's Sneakers

Has anyone read the article regarding Michelle Obama sporting the pair of $549 sneakers?  It kills me to think of how President Obama campaigned about the poor and middle class families and what he would do for them.  Has anyone seen this happen yet?  Yes, I realize it is early in his presidency but I have my doubts about his campaign promises and where his focus really is.  I have to ask people this question.  Does anyone feel in the type of recession our country is in at this moment with many Americans suffering many types of hardships, do you feel that Michelle Obama is setting a very good example while sporting a pair of sneakers that cost $549?  Just because she is the first lady and she can now afford to do this I am just wondering what others think of this type of spending.  I feel like Michelle and President Obama should be the first people trying to set an example for Americans and I don't feel this is setting a very good example.  I feel this is like slapping us poor and middle class people in the face.  LQjRBWhat do you think?

New taxes on tabacco products , new taxes , maybe , on sugar based products , new beer tax ? . Possible increase on carbon based products or by-products . Any increase in cost of doing business is factored into the final cost of the product or service for the end user . For those who are blessed with excess money this may be a non issue , not for those who have to live on less . "

Get real! Is is a problem becasue they are sneakers? Many women of her financial status wear heels that cost more than those sneakers, I didnt' see any of you complaining then! "

When we go to check out one of us gets in line to pay for his basket, the other just walks right out the door. The obvious question would be, "why aren't they paying for their groceries?" How unfair is it that some people pay for things while others do not? And the strangest thing is that the people who are not paying their taxes, are generally the people who are complaining the loudest about how unfair things are. "

What I object to is the burdensome taxation on the middle class, which will certainly have to increase to pay off all of this wild spending. If I felt that most of my taxes were put to good use, I could accept that it's the price of living in America. However, since I know that a large part of my taxes are squandered, I DO mind. "

In fact I am in a tax bracket where my income is so low I can't even file a return. I truly feel for people like yourself. Keep the truth coming, you are hitting on very important points. All of these Washington clowns who generate outrageous taxation for hard working Americans find ways to exempt themselves. They are seemingly not bound by their campaign rhetoric, sometimes to the point of being above the laws.
Case in point, although technically not illegal, is Comrade Pelosi's paying her husband just under $100,000 from her PAC funds as reported by the Washington Times, October 1, 2008. Now, THAT would buy a lot of sneakers. "

I don't consider buying $549 sneakers the norm for any family. Where did all this focus go......the normal family like normal Americans?
