“I thought that we’d be anywhere from 6-10 and we fell right in the middle at the No. 8 seed. I don’t think that there is any one dominant team this year in Class 3A.

“It’s the third time this year we play St. John and the last time we played them we won which gives us some confidence. It’s a little better to play someone you know because we don’t have to call around the state looking for information on a team.”
The defending Class A state champion Delcambre Lady Panthers drew the highest seed of the local teams. DHS used a strong schedule and the District 8-A championship to draw the No. 2 seed in Class A and will play host to No. 31 Ecole Classique at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
“Last year is last year and it won’t help us this year,” said DHS coach Mark Suire. “We have to be ready to play this year and not rest of what we did last year or what we did so far this year.
“I knew that we would probably be one of the top four seeds in Class A. It’s speaks to the tradition of the program and that fact that people know that when we come we show up to play.”
