Alice D. Paul AUSTIN, Texas — Alice Davis Paul was born on Aug. 1, 1933, in New Iberia to the parents of Sidney and Bertha Kelly Davis LeBlanc. Alice was a caregiver; she retired from UTMB as a Nurse Assistant, after 20 years of faithful service. A 37 year resident of Galveston, Texas, which she called home, Alice was uprooted and replanted in Austin, Texas. Following a brief illness, Alice received and answered her personal RSVP from our Heavenly Father. On Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at 11:57 a.m., the trumpet of Heaven resounded in a vibrant cantata and the clouds of the sky rolled back, the angels called the mighty roll and Alice, departing expeditiously, reached out and took the wise Master Builders’ hand and began her climb up the King’s highway! To God be the glory! Alice, a loving mother, devoted grandmother and an exceptional matriarch of her family, leaves to cherish wonderful memories of a life well lived three daughters and one son Denise Jones, of Austin, Texas, Sandra Hardeman of Galveson, Texas, and Sylvia Terry (Cornelius) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Anthony Paul of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren Kiska, LeRon (Deanna) and Courtney Jones of Austin, Texas, Terry Hardeman Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Brandi Hardeman of Galveston,Texas, Kelly Terry of Baltimore, Md., Brittany Kelly of Virginia Beach, Va.; six great-grandchildren Terrance, Daveion, Christopher, Nevaeh, Timirrah and Jonovyn. Left with loving memories are six siblings, three sisters and three brothers Easter Watson of San Antonio, Texas, JoAnn Davis of Austin, Texas, Martha Doucette of Dallas; three brothers John Davis of Austin, Texas, Sidney Davis and Rev. Francis Davis (Angelee) of New Iberia. Alice will also be remembered by her former husband and father of her children Joseph Paul Jr. (Theresa) of New Iberia; and a very devoted sister-in-law Vivian Davis of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha LeBlanc and Sidney ”Buddy” Davis Sr.; three sisters Betty Ruth Davis, Rosalie Scott and Alberta Williams; three brothers Gerald Davis, Samuel Davis and Lawrence ”LD” Davis; one son Samuel ”Sam Joe” Paul; and one great-grandson Jamari L. Jones. She leaves to mourn her demise, yet rejoice in precious memories a host of other family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, 11 a.m. at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, 1700 E. 16th St., Austin, TX 78702. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to King Tears Mortuary. |
