Iota pulls away to beat New Iberia

Allison Baggett scored 17 points as Iota jumped out to an early lead and pulled away in the second half for the 67-49 non-district win over New Iberia Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs (18-11) held leads of 18-12 at the end of the first quarter and 37-24 at halftime before outscoring NISH 29-18 in the second half.

Shalicia Rochon led NISH (11-12) with 14 points and Wendy Charles added 9 in the losing effort.

Acadiana 44, Westgate 42

SCOTT — Shaquera Gary scored a game-high 19 points as Acadiana rallied from a fourth quarter deficit to beat the Westgate 44-42 Friday in a non-district game.

Shayne Charles had 15 points to lead the Lady Tigers, who held leads of 10-8 at the end of the first quarter, 23-21 at halftime and 31-29 at the end of the third quarter in the contest.

Westgate opens District 5-4A play Tuesday when the teams plays host to Pineville.

Jeanerette 59, Delcambre 53

DELCAMBRE — Kiara Alfred had 17 points and led three others in double-figures as Jeanerette beat Delcambre 59-53 in a non-district game Friday.

Jade Green and Rayleonard Williams each had 12 points and Elaina Baytop chipped in 11 for the Lady Tigers, who jumped out to a 17-3 first quarter lead only to see Delcambre rally to take a 32-31 lead at halftime.

Jeanerette trailed by three entering the fourth quarter but outscored Delcambre 22-10 in the final period for the win.

Linzy Landry had 14 for Delcambre.

Jeanerette opens District 7-2A at Livonia Tuesday while Delcambre plays host to Bethel Christian Tuesday.

Teurlings 71, St. Martinville 28

LAFAYETTE — Kaitlyn Moreaux scored 17 points as Teurlings blew past St. Martinville 71-28 Friday in a District 5-4A encounter.

Julia Pollard added 16 for the Lady Rebels, who led 24-4 at the end of the first quarter. Teurlings built a 41-8 halftime lead and kpet increasing the margin in the second half and cruised to the win.

Chelsea James had 10 points for SMSH.
