Erath beats CHS in Yuletide Classic

ABBEVILLE -- Erath held Catholic High scoreless in the second quarter to pull ahead after trailing by 2 after the first quarter of their girls’ basketball game in the Vermilion Catholic Yuletide Classic on Sunday.

EHS led 17-9 at halftime and went on to win 41-29.

Kasey Landry scored 15 points and Shay Thompson and Meghan Desormeaux added 11 each for the Lady Bobcats.

Allison Lahasky scored 11 to pace Catholic High.

Acadiana 51, Delcambre 28

ABBEVILLE -- Acadiana jumped ahead 14-0 after one quarter and outscored Delcambre 29-16 in the second half to beat the Lady Panthers Sunday in the Yuletide Classic.

Jaci Trahan scored 10 points to lead DHS and Jenny Bouillion added 9.

Shanee Breaux had 15 points, Shaquira Gary scored 14 and Shaina Howard had 10 for AHS.

Marksville 75, Delcambre 54

ABBEVILLE -- Myshnae Swan scored 39 points as Marksville blew past Delcambre 75-54 Saturday in Vermilion Catholic’s Yuletide Classic.

Raven Hayes added 14 for Marksville, which scored 31 points in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Trahan scored 31 points to lead Delcambre. Bouillion added 11.

Cecilia 49, Hanson 22

ABBEVILLE -- Natasha Wiltz scored 16 and Bianca Davis added 14 as Cecilia beat Hanson Saturday in the Yuletide Classic.

Cecilia led 11-10 after the first quarter but outscored Hanson 38-12 the rest of the way for the win.

Allison Vaughan had 6 points for Hanson, which was knocked out of the tournament with the loss.

HMS returns to the court Saturday at Christian Life.

Vermilion Catholic 52, Loreauville 23

ABBEVILLE -- Brooke BRoussard scored 14 points as Vermilion Catholic beat Loreauville in the Yuletide Classic.

Ashley Theall added 8 points for the Lady Eagles, who led 19-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Dante Zacharie and Alicia Judice each had 6 points for Loreauville, which was scheduled to play Cecilia this morning.

New Iberia 47, Loranger 40

PONCHATOULA -- New Iberia outscored Loranger 24-15 in the first half to beat the Lady Wolves in the Ponchatoula Tournament on Saturday

Shalicia Rochon scored 14, Windy Charles added 12 and Crysean Clavelle had 7 for New iberia (11-7), which played Hahnville on Sunday.

Kimberly Colbreath scored 12 and Sarah Boyette added 8 for Loranger.
