Roderick Campbell, CEO of Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Cen-ter, pleaded “not guilty” to the charge of simple assault, a misdemeanor, in City Court Monday.

The charge stemmed from a phone conversation Campbell had with New Iberia District 5 Council-man Raymond “Shoe-do” Lewis on Nov. 13. After the conversation, Lewis filed a restraining order against Campbell, alleging Camp-bell said he would “like to meet me in a cane field to whip my a--” in the phone conversation.

The restraining order was dismissed by mutual consent after an out of court discussion Nov. 26.

Lewis’ wife, Roxy Lewis, was fired from the health center in St. Martinville Nov. 7. She was arrested by St. Martinville City Police Dec. 11 on charges of unlawfully prescribing hydrocodone, “a controlled and dangerous substance,” while she was an employee.

The investigation stems from a complaint by a representative of ICCHC. City Prosecutor Anne Stevens said the trial date for the charge will be Feb. 18 before City Judge Robert Segura in City Court.

    " bigjake,
I support Mr. Campbell in the fact that it appears he did his job. He terminated a person that seems to have a history that repeats itself. The behavior of Shoe Do was uncalled for with this situation. The problem with Shoe Do is he thinks he is some type of big person in this community and he is a nothing. He will realize one day that he can't go around intimidating people with the attitude that is he such a big person in this community, Not my dislike for him just the facts. "

" How can "Shoe-Do" file simple assault charges on Campbell.....Campbell hasnt kicked his "a$$" yet? Just wondering..... "

" Why hasn't anyone from District 5 challenged Shoe-Do's residency on a state level instead of locally? Encourage our state elected officials to introduce a bill to prohibit an individual from representing a district that they do not permanently reside in. It would be interesting to see this played out. "

What does Mr. Campbell's personal business have to do with Mr. Lewis calling and harrassing the man on his job, after his wife was terminated for criminal behavior?
How do you know what issues the Board of Directors at ICCHC have/have not addressed?
The Board of Director's Meetings at ICCHC are open to the public. How many have you attended? "

Are you supporting Mr. Campbell because of your dislike of Mr. Lewis? Do you even know anything about Mr. Campbell ? Mrs White this guy need just as much help as Mrs. Lewis he have a lot of issues aand yes it carries over to the job. The Board at that clinic will suffer when all said and done about .Mr. Campbell is no better off than Sho-Do, this guy operate like he can not be ttouch I hope the courts take care of him and the Board will finally address all these issuers with this. " Well I am just not sure of how good a person Shoe Do actually is in all reality. He met his match when he tried to push his weight around because he thinks he is some top dog. He will meet his match again one day if he does not stop his behavior. Good for Mr. Campbell for standing up to him as it appears he had every right. As for his wife Roxy, I feel sorry for this lady because she needs serious help. But, needs to pay the price for her crime. "
