Viley J. Chauvin III

Viley J. “Jay” Chauvin III, 60, a native of Franklin and a resident of Baldwin, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in Franklin.

Jay is survived by his wife, Sylvia “Sue” LeBlanc Chauvin of Baldwin; two sons, Jay Darren Chauvin of Key West, FL and Adam Paul Chauvin of New Orleans; two daughters, Wendy Chauvin Richard and her husband, Coby, of Maurice, and Jill Lee Chauvin of Lafayette; mother, Goldie Adams Chauvin of Franklin; three sisters, Sylvia Borne of Franklin, Susan Ockman of Lockport and Janie Chauvin of Bourg; two grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Chauvin and Allison Chauvin Smith and two great grandchildren, Ayden and Madelyn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Viley J. Chauvin, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Keith Landry and Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services.

Mr. Chauvin was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, a member of Ducks Unlimited, an avid fisherman and hunter, was a field agent for the Knights of Columbus Insurance Program, was a business owner in Baldwin for the past 27 years, on Sunday’s you could always find in the boat and most of all he loved his time with his family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert’s Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin.
