Can't We All Just... Get Along

By Wolf Blitzed

The new sheriff had not been in office a month when he was slammed on this forum because of the crime going on in the parish. There have been many unreasonable comments along these lines. Is this from people who have a city police versus IPSO grudge? A Louis Ackal versus Sid Hebert grudge? Or rather, are these people simply clueless? For the sake of argument, let us assume that Louis Ackal is not just a good sheriff, let's go all out and assume that he is the best sheriff in the country. Are there any of you that thinks a great sheriff takes over and wanted criminals walk into the sheriffs office and turn themselves in? Other people who are planning to rob a convenience store say "oh wait, I can't do a robbery because we now have SuperSheriff."  I see the same thing with Obama. Many people seem to think he is magic. Once Obama takes over it will be all rainbows and unicorns. Grow up people. Obama may do a good job, but change comes slowly. Those of you old enough, remember when Jimmy Carter left office. The economy was messed up, 21% interest rates. Reagan comes in, and because of things he implemented, things turned around. But it did not happen OVERNIGHT. Give the new sheriff a chance. If after four years we don't like what he is doing we can't vote him out, I know I will. But as of today, he seems to be doing a good job, and he has my support. I have heard him slammed because he "decided to audit former sheriff Hebert."  URRRRRRRRRRNT!!!! Wrong answer, thanks for playing.  We have a years supply of Turtle Wax for you as a consolation prize.  The government requires that audit.  Not his idea. From what I have seen, he seems like he is cut from the mold of sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona. If that is the case, I hope he is sheriff for life.
