Catholic High takes business to Lafayette

Football Fan

The Iberia Parish Schools each recently received a letter from Catholic High School stating that they no longer wished to play in the Iberia Parish Football Jamboree. Instead, they will now be playing in the Lafayette Jamboree. The reason stated was that it would give their kids the opportunity to play on Cajun Field. Instead of switching when they were hosting the jamboree, they pulled the switch when another school was hosting leaving the burden of finding another team on that school. The Jamboree brings in a good amount of funding for the Iberia Parish Schools. Having a school pull out of the Jamboree will have a great impact because it will take many people from Iberia Parish and bring them to Lafayette. At a time when the economy is heading south and we are being asked to spend our money in our parish, they are taking their business elsewhere. Bravo Catholic High!

it is not a CHS players falt for what Uhl-fool and Brodie have decided to do. This is just another slap in the face of parents, teachers, and administration of CHS by Uhl-fool to prove he will do what he wants and when he wants. I am so glad my son left there couple years ago. Comeaux had good times at CHS but he was ruled by that dang baseball coach Power Jordan. These players work hard all year long preparing for the season and deserve the respect of the community. CHS football had a tough year, however they are losing only a few players to graduation and should contend for the district title in 2009. I don't think anyone from CHS will be playing on Cajun Field on Saturdays in the near future and they certainly will not be playing on turf in any championship game. That is just a poor excuse. That's typical how they would wait until they hosted the jamboree and then withdraw. I doubt the "catholic" school is even concerned about finding another team to take it's place leaving the burden to the next host. "
