Peter Perrodin, 70, and Hannah Broussard, 22, who were inside the house watching television, complained of neck and back injuries after the crash and were taken to a local hospital, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Wendell Raborn said. The victims were identified by family members on the scene.
The driver of the car, Derek Delahoussaye, 17, told officials the brakes of his Pontiac Grand Prix failed when he tried to stop at the intersection of Leon Landry and A. Broussard Road, Raborn said. Delahoussaye was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and careless operation of a vehicle.

People stood around in small groups chatting while others, including a television cameraman, meandered around the front yard and into the bedroom of the home.
“That car missed everything,” shouted one bystander. “It missed the mailbox, the ditch and the columns (of the house).”
Kenneth Williams, who identified himself as Perrodin’s nephew, said it was unfortunate the car hit the house where it did.
“He (Perrodin) spends a lot of time there watching TV,” Williams said.
The vehicle remained lodged in the house at 1306 Leon Landry Road for more than an hour before a tow truck arrived to take it away, prompting the crowd to slowly break up.
